what a good time. I am too tired to review right now but...

people smashed boxes of light bulbs. Why? Dunnow

the singer of one band threatened everyone who didn't mosh "I'll remember your faces..." he cautioned.

I saw Hang Em High, first time seeing Aaron do vocals. Pretty fun!

Devil in the Kitchen was AWESOME. Best I'd ever seen them.

ok full review later.

Aaron, I'm assuming you won't make it to Bane and the suicide file tomorrow?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 28,2005 1:25am
you are correct.

The singer of the band who threatend the kids who didnt mosh was called DISSOLUTION or something like that.

Good time tonight. There were a bunch of faggot tough guys there, but hey, what're ya gonna do...

I am also too tired to really give a review, that can wait until I've slept.

Sorry to all of the bands who were pressed for time, you can blame that on Hang em' High and Dissolution.

toggletoggle post by nahh_keed at May 28,2005 4:35am
No, you are wrong, it was Within The Fray that took forever to set up.

toggletoggle post by the drummer at May 28,2005 6:46am
yeah we (within the fray) did take a while to get going, but only because our bassist was having a problem with his equipment. then we had to cut our set short to make up for it. so... yeah. every band i saw played really well. i know i had a good time. sean, thanks again for getting us on the show. awesome turn out man. there was no where to park by the second hour or so. i still think i should have stayed where i was in the "members only" parking area. fuck old drunk people. fuck em.

yeah, that's not exactly fair. we were told we had 20 minutes to set up, play, and break everything down. So we cut our set short and shared equipment with our friends' band.

toggletoggle post by Paulll at May 28,2005 8:42am
i highly doubt we took up anyones time we played for 6 minutes, and we used hang em highs equiptment.Honestly any band ive been in I dont think has ever taken anyones time up.The show started about 40 minutes late and it seemed like every band played way too long. lol our singer making threats I dont think was to be taken seriously...chill out people and sit back have a brew through on your devil in the kitchen cd and make sure your fiddle is in tune.

yeah i apologize for taking forever, we drank a handle of tequilla last week, and my buddy being a fucking retard knocked my head off the stairs 4 feet off the ground. and i didnt test it out til the show, so i apologize.

i wish i could have stayed past hang 'em high, there were some pretty scene kids that were crashing into TOS's equipment during their set and blatantly didnt care, that pissed me off, have some respect, fuckers. But after them i had to leave to work early today, i wish i could have seen Taste Of Silvah as my last band instead, but what can ya do? reno, thanks for the chance to play buddy.

yes just waking up so I'm still sorting over thoughts, but I might also add:

Chris from Within The Fray's new head has fantastic tone. SRX? is that it? Great sounding amp!!!

Pinata during DitK was fun...I'd never seen so many hardcore kids run around picking up Double Bubble and Airheads in my life.

Topless girls during Circle Pits also is a fun way to spend a fiddle session.

First band was pretty good. Within about 30 seconds in the song the guitar player fucked his guitar up and they had to stop. Stylistically I think they had some good ideas...90's style New York hardcore.

Auburn System played much much better than last time I saw them. Blazing 6 minute set.

Reading kids represented in full force!

The hall was pretty nice, pretty spacious. Does anyone know if they were happy with last night, or mad as hell?

toggletoggle post by anonymous at May 28,2005 11:46am
i bet they'll be mad simply because they had to listen to us all night while they drank, forget the fact that some of their property (lightbulbs?) got smashed and the bathroom floors were covered with water.

i can't wait to see the day when kids realize moshing isn't a competition, let alone that 75% of anyone who actually tries to mosh looks like a goofy motherfucker. i felt bad for TTOS's drum set, kids have no respect, someone was bouncing off it every 2 minutes. i'd a stood in front of it myself if i wasn't trying to protect chris and eric's gear from falling over (and D money's baby).

it wasn't a bad show, there were highs and lows, just like any night with a bunch of scene kids i don't know.

It's a JSX, Nic. Peavey Joe Satriani Signiture head. The thing is full of tone. Thanks for noticing, GUY.

Speaking of stupid kids moshing, everyone catch that fucker who attacked me with ten of his closest friends for no reason? (During the second band)

TOOOOOOTALLY AWESOME.

If you are going to stand near the pit, or go/play shows, where hardcore bands are playing, don't bitch about getting hit.

toggletoggle post by PatMeebles at May 30,2005 3:22am
Getting hit by a random spin-kick is different than being attacked by 10 people.

yeah good call....those 10 kids should have all jumped on Rowan cause he was standing near the pit.

DING DONG!

FedEx is here with your Mensa application.

Yeah that was fuckin' ridiculous. I saw his head get stomped like 3 times. When I go to a hardcore show, I expect a bunch of faggots dancing like retarded faeries in the middle of a floor... not 10 people to attack the singer of one of the bands that's performing.

Yeah, that's cool. For anyone who was part of the whole "attack"...

You're wickid tough.

so just curious, did anyone help out Rowan or did they just stand around and watch him get his asskicked. i mean what's the deal here.

Rowan is a peaceful person.

Of Course, he'll react when there's a situation that demands it, like if a friend was being beaten to death, or he was being attacked with the intent to harm, or something, but he's not the kind of kid that will just hit you.

That said, when I saw a -- as one girl put it -- "gay fight" at another hardcore show, probably the last person I'd put on a list to be involved would be Rowan. When they seperated the pack of kids and I saw him with cuts and such, you can't imagine my surprise.

It was stupid because i think everyone felt like I did...it was shocking to see Rowan in the middle of it, so no one thought to get involved.

When I found out, I was ripshit but mostly I felt pity for such a coward that was so desperate for a fight he'd pick it with a dude that would never start one with him had he known there was a fight to be had.

toggletoggle post by whiskey_weed_and_women  at May 30,2005 3:42pm
oh no, not saying Rowan started or anything like that. i was just curious about details cause i asked Alex and he said he was outside during it. there's no reason to fight at shows anyways, unless you're talking about the RedSox and the Yankees. other then that no reason, no reason at all.

Yeah, my friend Forrest was standing behind me and grabbed two kids off of me right as they jumped in, but by the time he looked over at me again I had me thrown/pushed fifteen feet away and was on the floor.

After that I don't really know what happened, I saw the bottoms of some shoes coming towards my face, a couple of which I managed to deflect, then suddenly i was on my feet thanks to several good kids who were breaking it up. Many thanks to them, especially the kids I didn't even know who helped me out.

For the record, I love dancing and moshing at shows. What I hate is stupid assholes who try and hurt people.

i thought the show was pretty good. my highlight was obviously ttos. dissolution wasnt bad at all. hearing a few slams made me smile. within the fray did a good set too, the jsx is definetly a sweet head (peavey has a plethora of good heads in the grand range), and hang em high and SOG did good sets as well.
