New site? Maybe some day.
What is Aaron Turner thinking signing these guys? All that fucking weed is getting to the ol' sage I think. |
jesus. that fucking sucks. |
why did i do it...I knew there was a reason why I strongly dislike them guys. As the sun sets was way better |
is that really much different then the 7"/lp? i agree the cleaner vocals are different, but on the whole I don't really see the big change. |
I like it, but its probably because I havent heard their better stuff too. |
I liked it. It is better than later ATSS stuff. |
Thats not a new song, it was just an unreleased one from canada songs. :') I got it off lambgoat a long while ago. |
No it's not, it's from a release they just did on City of Hell. It's out and it's terrible.

Daughters just finished up a studio session which yielded several songs bound for different places. First is a cover of "Marry Me (lie lie)" for the upcoming Birthday Party compilation to be released on Threeoneg (threeoneg.com). Secondly they completed one new track for an upcoming COH project (yet to be determined) entitled "Boner X-ray" which you can hear RIGHT THE FUCK NOW in the mp3 section. Yep new Daughters jam go check it. They also layed down the beginings of another new song to be finsihed after they road trip it for the summer. Its allready awesome and it's only half done! We also have two different t-shirt designs in odd sizes hanging around so buy one asshole.
HMMM Jackson you sassy bitch, you were partly right. That news update on their site is VERY VERY outdated but it doesn't say it's for Canada Songs.
Anyway, I am completely digressing.
IT SUCKS REALLY BAD. |
im not saying it doesnt suck, im just saying its not new. Nigger, are you still coming on the third? Can you get ahold of within the fray and finalize? I cant for some reason. |
sure thing man. we are most def gonna be there on the third.
oh yeah THAT DAUGHTERS SONG SUCKS. |
wait is this nick or someone from wtf? |
daughters? sucking? welcome to 2002 |
sounds like someone found a good excuse to say they used to like daughters. |
I guess I'm a fag, cause I loved Canada Songs to death, this track seems to lack the intensity and punch of that though. Laaaaaaaaaaaame. |

hey jackson --
that was Nicholas from TTOS. I forgot this is anoynmously poosting. pooooosting. |
Why would you have any interest to begin with? |
"hi. we're the daughters and we're better than you!" |
At first I thought it was a phase...cause every band that forms from an old band has kinks to work out, and since Daughters is the bulk of ATSS I assumed it was natural to fidgit around, thinking "How can we do something we weren't just doing before in our last band?". I like Jon's drumming more than one might think, and I thought the guitars on Canada Songs were creative...
But I think now that I am hearing other material by the band, and they are just repeating the same formula, plus the same jokes, it gets to me. Lex doing metrosexual vocals to scare off jocks that go to grindy shows just for the breakdowns is a really funny, novel idea that I think they brought into the limelight -- the questioned the sexual identities of people that go to aggressive music shows, and that is a neat process in itself. But making a career of that? No thanks. Yelping like a faggy guy being attacked by dogs isn't what I want out of music: it's so fake when that happens.
Bands like Limpwrist or Nirvana handeled certain questions about sex and sexual idenitity in more dirty, masculine musics in a way that I thought was methodical and intelligent. It was done with placement so it made a point in a way that left room for ponderence.
But basing a whole career on it? Leave that to TurboNegro.

ponderence isnt really a word |
how does this sound differnet than all their other songs. |
grind is something that had already been done, pig destroyer all the way. but i love ATSS, and i liked Canada songs a lot, but the problem is canada songs can only be listened to once in a great while for me, the songs seem almost all the same, except track 10 with that funny breaksown at the end.
my point... only do grind if you have something NOBODY HAS DONE BEFORE, and daughters has already done that... terrible.
(oh, and i forgot my password to my linkie name) |
i saw these guys in a taco bell in middletown NY. they looked like a bunch of coked out, ugly, anorexic girls. seriously. haha |
I KILL Romulans DEAD....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... |
never heard these guys...heard they were good...heard wrong |
If you want to hear where Daughters got their sound, go listen to Arab on Radar. AOR's Soaking the Saddle . It's got the music and the lyrics , it's the blueprint for Daughters's Canada songs |
i personally mind canda songs. probably based on the fact that its only 10 minutes long.
oh and atts is three thousand times better |

last time i saw daughters a few months ago WITH the chinese stars they played a bunch of new songs. thier new stuff is just like the old stuff but with more AOR parts, longer breakdowns, and ripped off orchid (gatefold) vocals.
