i think it's supposed to make fun of shows like punk'd where they do awful pranks that aren't funny, and the victim laughs at the end simply because it was for a tv show.

dude guy, it's making fun of Candid Camera type shows, you know, they pull some prank and then finally go "smile you're on candid camera" and show the guy the camera, you know? In this case the prank is the nuts-kicking, and it follows the same format
