haha, he called earlier, and I thought it was the 'crank caller' cause it said private number. So I handed my phone off to a coworker to answer and gave him the queue to fuck with him. So he answers the phone with "what the fuck do you want?" and then soon after he starts saying "who are you trying to book on the 11th" and I was like, ooops dude, give me my phone back! hahha.

I am leaving for vacation at the cape on this very day. I'm so fucking pissed off.

toggletoggle post by Demonsofwinter at May 6,2005 8:40am
Whats up with this Kenny guy booking shows? I met him outside the Palladium and he did show me the flier for this death metal show on June 11. He told me he is getting back up on his feet and trying to do shows around the area. He told me he is setting up a show with Skinless and Goratory in late June or July and wanted us "Perpetual Winter" to play the show. He then tells me he does shows at the Palladium. I have never seen the guy at any metal palladium shows. At Metal Fest was the first time I met him and that was outside. I just read the comments about him that were posted by RustedAngel. Is this guy for real or should we avoid him like the plague???

toggletoggle post by ~Carina~ at May 6,2005 8:44am
you should read the link I posted above...

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at May 6,2005 8:48am
I guess we will all see on June 11th.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at May 6,2005 8:49am
That guy has no teeth and kept harrassing me at that Bane of Existence show on the 29th. I wasn't even sure what he wanted, I gave him my email address but he never emailed me.

toggletoggle post by ~Carina~ at May 6,2005 8:50am
or not see...

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at May 6,2005 8:52am
Is this guy inviting every band on earth to play at the palladium?

Based on what Josh Staples told me, I don't think I would want to work with him.

Josh, did you knock his teeth out or what?

toggletoggle post by ~Carina~ at May 6,2005 9:05am
i don't get why they agreed to play when he already shafted bands...

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at May 6,2005 9:06am
NO TEETH! None, at all. His mouth is totally empty.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at May 6,2005 9:09am
my take on this show, is that it's at the palladium and most likely they will be handling the money since it's on their premesis.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at May 6,2005 9:10am
RustedAngel said:

I doubt it, they will probably give Kenny all the money after they take their cut.

toggletoggle post by ~Carina~ at May 6,2005 9:22am
Exactly what Joe said...if he booked the show...they will take their cut and he gets the rest...so Tom, YES they handle the money but once they are done, they are giving it to him, not to the bands...

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at May 6,2005 9:23am
~Carina~ said:

that's why the bands should talk to the palladium before the show to make sure he doesn't try anything.

I don't give a shit, we're playing it under the impression we're not getting paid anyways so whatever.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at May 6,2005 9:27am
The Palladium staff sucks, I doubt they will give a shit. And anyways, it's not up to them what to do. Thats how the game works.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at May 6,2005 9:28am
so basically, everyone who's not in the bands playing this are saying we should all drop this once in an ion chance to play at the palladium? how often does this place have these type's of shows anymore? almost never.

toggletoggle post by Boots wtf at May 6,2005 9:29am
rape! rape! rape!

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at May 6,2005 9:30am
Do whatever you want, for local bands it probably doesn't matter a whole lot if you get paid or not. It would suck for Malignancy and Internal Suffering though, who need to travel.

If that weirdo can book at the palladium, then I bet someone else could.

toggletoggle post by ~Carina~ at May 6,2005 9:32am
Again i'm with joe on this...you can "Talk" to the palladium staff all you want...they are signing a contract with the guy who booked the show, so there is nothing they can do. IF you wanna play, go for it...I've had people ask me my opinion and i gave it...
as for once in an ion show at the palladium...i gotta disagree with you there...if i wanted to book a show upstairs i could..problem is that i don't want drama of what bands play and what don't and have people pissed at me

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at May 6,2005 9:33am
Carina, if anyone got pissed at you, you can just tell them to suck my dick.

toggletoggle post by BornSoVile   at May 6,2005 5:36pm
Kenny is the sketchiest person I've ever met. I asked him several times why "you bailed on the bands and didn't pay them in natick" and all i got was "i made nothing" then the fuck opens up my car during my bbq and tries taking off my Phobia cd to replace it with the stupid gizmachi promo he got. I told him to fuck off since he ganked two of my beers. Then of course he's standing there asking us "do you know anything about these bands who are playing my show" ugh what a cunt. the first time i met him at suffo, robdeadskin and myself we're ready to throw down on the fuck, i thought he was homeless and he kept pestering rob, i will never understand why he is allowed to book there.

toggletoggle post by whiskey_weed_and_women  at May 6,2005 5:38pm

doors at 6pm, show starts at 7pm
er.. wait, wtf...
doors at 7pm starts at 7:30pm with 7 bands?
I guess
7:30-8pm DWW
8-8:30 anoxia
8:30-9 porphyria
9:30-10 teratism
10-10:45 Internal Suffering
10:45-11:30 malignancy
11:30-12:30 dehumanized

heh

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 11,2005 11:04am
or...
7:30-8pm DWW
means 7:30-7:50 playing and then a 10 minute set change.

this is just me guessing based on my previous experiences with the palladium. these are not the actual set times/order of bands.
there will most likely be mega back-lining and sharing or equipment.

first 4 bands will get 20 minute sets, the next two 30-35 minute sets, and dehumanized :45-1hr.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 11,2005 11:05am

Showed up late. anoxia was pretty sick. still again I think dave made the band better (just my opinon), Internal suffering was sick, although the sound in the place didnt do them too much justice. Malignancy I thought was the best of the night. The sound was thick as hell and they played a nasty set. Dehumanized was definatly fucking excellent. Actually got a chance to move for them this time without getting into fights, and they played terminal punishment...excellent. To the fat kid who apparently threw beer at me and matt thats cool man free beer for us, and a waste of your money. Overall a pretty good night.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 12,2005 4:19am
this was probably the best sound I've heard from all these bands. it's awesome that a show is in the upstairs of the palladium when all but 2 of the bands post here. the attendance was a few people higher than I thought would have come out.

death without weeping: I've seen them play better, but the sound they were given was awesome. the cheif was a little bit out of control... I think their set would have been better if he played it 15% more sober. chris kessaris's riffs are less and less just noodles tossed on top of the DWW salad and more integrated into the music. I think they only song he noodled was in the beginning.

Porphyria: with rusted angel illing, they played pretty awesome. I really hope they fill the 2nd guitarist soon. the missing riffs need to be put back. besides that, they had fun and the crowd seemed to like them anf get bigger towards the end of the set.

eyes closing, the rest later.

toggletoggle post by Kalopsia   at Jun 12,2005 5:38am
i just got home myself. damn what a fuckin drive. well worth it though. i had a good time, and it was a good show. i'm glad everyone was satisfied with our set (though it was cut short one song), all the other bands did really good as well. tonight was definately the best i've ever heard Malignancy play. but Porphyria was out of extra large shirts!!!!!

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at Jun 12,2005 9:31am
I missed the first band.

Porphyria was ok, not as tight as the other time I saw them and they were down one guitarist.

Teratism played good, but the sound at the Palladium is horrible so nobody really sounded that great. Atleast I could hear the bass this time. I like.

Anoxia also played good, I heard they are not going to be playing out as much anymore, which is wicked fucking gay because I am starting to get into them now that Brian has found the use of the volume knob on his amp.

Internal Suffering I didn't pay much attention too because the Palladium staff are a bunch of nazis. At this point in the show I wish I had not gone.

Malignancy also played good but sounded bad because the Palladium hires blind and deaf people to do sound. Or maybe it's just the room? I don't know. I cannot understand why people love that dump so much.

Dehumanized has always been one of my least favorite death metal bands, they opened with an old song called 'I can benchpress a real fucking lot, guy'. After a couple of old songs, they went into their new song 'Taking off my shirt gets all the metalcore wimps to shuffle around like the faggots they are'. Needless to say, all the metalcore wimps actually did start shuffling around like the faggots they are. They went into another new song called 'We are now NY's answer to Shadows Fall' and then 'We rented this sound from the Red Chord'. After that I had to leave.

Highlight of the night, Serge representing Boston Metal while all the metalcore homos were trying to do their gay pride shuffles. Nothing stopped him from fist pumping and headbanging to every song from every band.

i only saw the last 2 bands but...

Malignancy - emperial march intro won me over. I couldnt see most of the band, except the guitarist, who is a virtuoso, bombarding the crowd with about 800 grinding riffs. not one of them in 4/4 time...lots of confused headbangers...

Dehumanized - lots and lots and lots of breakdowns. but it was cool to hear riffs with a simple pulse, for those who lack ADHD and/or suck at math...but they were not without moments of insanity, and straightforward brutality usually makes the best live metal.

NEED MORE SHOWS LIKE THIS

teratism: so now mike (DOM) sings? rob (boston's air guitar champ) announced to the whole word that he actually does drum for blistered earth (his doppleganger, greg, was there, but I didn't see them together cause that would have meant the end of everything). their set was pretty nasty. being someone who was close to the stage and/r on the stage, I thought that their sound was really good. I didn't hear it from the back, but everything from the tri-vocals to the drums to the guitars sounded great. by the end of their set, a lot of people were tossing up horns. hopefully, they will be openning downstairs for a band like napalm death if they come around touring.

anoxia: much better soundwise than all the other venues I've ever seen them in. the only thing that was wrong with their sound was the vocals were a bit too loud. they took a really long time to set up so their set wasn't very long. I swear, maybe 6-7 songs @ 2minutes per song.

internal suffering: this is the first time that I saw them that the drums were as punishing as they are on their CDs. Maybe it was cause for a song or two, I was back behind the drummer, but it was pretty awesome to watch the drummer playing.

malignancy: at first it started off with the vocals squeeling way too high, but after a minute or so, the sound was pretty awesome. it was actually the best I've heard them... eh.. actually, I think one of the NY shows sounded better. compared to the bombshelter, and some other places, I've seen them, the sound here was much better. you could actually tell what was going on. last time I saw them, I thought that I would like to see them live with 2 guitar players. after this show, I decided that that would be way too much. Oh, and roger was wrong. if you heard him say "we haven't play here since 1999 though rev from return to the pit says 2000". I was correct, when I told him may 6 2000:
http://www.returntothepit.com/concert.php?date=2000-05-06&band=malignancy
warning the pictures are horrible... this was with my 1999 digital camera and was the first RTTP show I shot.
as always, it was fun shooting pictures of roger running laps around the stage.

dehumanized: well, these dudes definitely don't disappoint. this was another awesome set. I don't think that their CD does their live set justice. Also, those new tracks that everyone was bitching about or whatever, well, live they are completely brutal. at one point john, the singer went incredible hulk and shredded his shirt, tossing it in the crowd. some bald dude was super psyched to get that as a souvenir.

malignancy: at first it started off with the vocals squeeling way too high, but after a minute or so, the sound was pretty awesome. it was actually the best I've heard them... eh.. actually, I think one of the NY shows sounded better. compared to the bombshelter, and some other places, I've seen them, the sound here was much better. you could actually tell what was going on. last time I saw them, I thought that I would like to see them live with 2 guitar players. after this show, I decided that that would be way too much. Oh, and roger was wrong. if you heard him say "we haven't play here since 1999 though rev from return to the pit says 2000". I was correct, when I told him may 6 2000:
http://www.returntothepit.com/concert.php?date=2000-05-06&band=malignancy
warning the pictures are horrible... this was with my 1999 digital camera and was the first RTTP show I shot.
as always, it was fun shooting pictures of roger running laps around the stage.

i think you mean danny. roger (mortician) isnt in the band anymore.

ok
i missed death without weeping and porphyria. i suck.

teratism: caught most of their set. solid band. their one guitarist rob gave me their cd in bellingham in Dec. and it ruled up until my cds got stolen. i remembered some songs off the cd that they played. the 3 singer thing rules..they really have their shit together. their drummer is awesome too. sucks he won't be with them anymore.

anoxia: i thought they were a lot better than the time we played with them in bellingham. cool stuff but the sound was weird with them and i couldn't hear the drums really. i miss the lead singer's ponytail too. i want to hear them on cd, and then i would probably appreciate them more.

internal suffering: they played a great set. it's awesome they signed with unique leader. the fans blowing the bassist and drummer's hair made it that much more epic. they seemed like they were having sound problems which sucks. they rule though.

malignancy: so good. i saw them play the same set (for the most part) ast week at the hudson duster in troy. the sound was probably better their but they were way more intense at the palladium. the guitarist has the best tone ever. these guys are so underrated outside of the northeast. i want a new album asap.

dehumanized: they opened up with my 3 favorite songs by them. they get tighter every time i see them too. i like the new songs, even though some people say they're "metalcore". whatever, it's good and catchy as hell. i want to hear a new full length from these guys soon too. i can see them getting supe popular within the year too.

i also saw the tiny spanish dude with the iron neck headbang through entire songs during dehumanized's set. carina looked amused.

i had a blast at this show.....
pitted, raised the horns, headbanged, drank lots of beer, felt bad whenever i bumped into that psycho headbanger dude in the middle of the pit, but, i'm sure it did'nt bother him, because he kept right on going!

that guy was fucking cool

me and my buddy shawn were sumo wrestling in the pit too, hahaha

as far as the bands, anoxia always sounds to blurry and chaotic live... but still, i enjoyed,

internal suffering my first time seeing them live, and hopefully not the last! fucking BRUTAL

malignancy - i'm still pissed that they did'nt play "post-fetal depression", but other than that, they ruled as usual.

dehumanized - first of all, to all you fucks shittalking this band..... i truely hope that you choke on a load of your fathers cum you fuckwads!
dehumanized is a very brutal death metal band.....callin them metalcore, is like calling devourment metalcore you drooling fucking retards!
they ruled at AS220's earlier this year, and they ruled the palladium on saturday.....all who disagree are probably just dickless retards who finger their assholes and drool on their pet cat while listening to marilyn manson and korn, only to whip out their metal and grind c.d.'s when their buddies stop by

Well joe/notcommon had this strange review to give, I personally love criticism but when someone just goes off without making any sense it just makes me laff. " I can benchpress alot more than you , guy" ? where in our songs do you get that from? and we rented our sound from the Red Chord? If by any chance we did sound like them it was total coincidence sine noone in the band even listens to the Red Chord. but hey opinions are like assholes and your obviously an asshole.....lol.....if you didnt like it just say so dont go talking shit , i can take an honest review but you seem to have some vendetta against us or something. Hey if we sound metalcore than boo hoo for you but I honestly dont think we do and by the looks of the crowd I dont think we did that night either. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL YOU CRAZY MOTHERFUCKERS FOR AN AWESOME TIME AT THE PALLADIUM and to JOE/NOTCOMMON's dismay we were asked to come back and play again on a bigger bill.......so here's to pissing on your parade.

I wonder how dehumanized would do on the mainstage opening for a national.
It's a whole 'nother can of worms when there is a barricade. I mean, john won't be able to grab anyone by the hair beside.. er.. himself (since he's got the longest hair in the band)

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Jun 14,2005 10:41am
I don't understand why Joe is labeling them metalcore either. Are they metalcore because none of them have long hair? Is it because they don't all wear black? Anyways, don't worry about it guys, he's just one guy out of probably 3 who think the same way. So it's almost not even worth defending yourself.

We've been told we had 'Football Riffs' so I guess that means we all like football, NOT. Some people are just not cut out for reviewing music even if they think they know it all.

So I started getting seriously sick Friday night. The glands on each side of my throat were swollen like golf balls and it was hard for me to swallow food and drinks. My neck also began to hurt, this worried the hell out of me because of playing this show because I couldn't cancel it. Some people probably would put their health 1st but I decided to give it a shot even if I couldn't move around.

The freakin show started 1 hour before I and most people thought it was going to. That had me worried especially knowing people traveling long distances would miss us, and they did. gay. I'm in a way glad it started earlier because I wanted to stay for the entire show and would rather not have to suffer until 2am.

DWW: Keenan was so fucking drunk it was hillarious. This was probably the best I've heard of them out of all the shows we've played together.

US: I thought we played pretty tight, the sound wasn't the best but it was do-able. The vocals were way loud on stage and I could hardly hear the drums. Originally I wasn't going to move at all but as soon as a we started I was like fuuuuuuck this and just started thrashing around, I knew I would pay for it later though, haha. It was weird playing a stage I've seen so many good bands on that it's ridiculous. I can't believe I managed to play this show. I seriously almost went to the emergency room sunday because it was so bad. Instead I got my doc to call me in a perscription.

Teratism: I missed most of the beginning trying to recover my breath outside at my car. I caught the end and it sounded awesome. They rule.

Anoxia: A bit hard to hear what was going on for some reason, the sound was just too bassy for most of the bands I guess. I still dug it though.

Internal Sufferring: Came out and kicked some ass. Makoto needs to put his asian hair to good use.

Malignancy: I got a couple video clips of mike showing off err I mean warming up. hahah. They sounded sick onstage and in front of the stage.

Dehumanized: Finally got to see Mike in action on stage instead of seeing him playing with himself in his bedroom myspace pics =) They rocked pretty hard and it's apparent they have their material down tight. Esepcially since it's all older material that I know of? Definetly a band I'd like to play out more with. They all seemed like good dudes and let us have a bunch of their waters.

Just when I thought Kailyn and I could go home and rest.... My little bro's friend and his friends come up to me and tell me their car got towed. I let them use my phone and the place said it would cost them $110 to get the car, none of them had that kind of cash. I wasn't going back to maine, and I had my car packed full of stuff. The only option I could think of was for them to talk to the cop at the palladium. I guess they waited at the police station till 5am until their dad came and they almost died falling asleep driving on the way home. shitty.

Awesome show, I hope this leads to more.
