New site? Maybe some day.
It's about fucking time too. 50 million albums sold yet they are STILL UNDERGROUND! I think they are the most sucessful underground group of all time. |
Iron Maiden UNDERGROUND!? what the hell are you on?! |
I would direct you to the search feature, but first I'd like to recommend you acquire a brain...otherwise the search engine's power is slightly weakened. |
Yes matt, Underground. When do ever see Iron Maiden on MTV, or hear them on the radio? Maiden has been blackballed in the states since they started. That makes 'em underground in my book. Underground doesn't necessarily mean unsucessful. |
maiden is so underground they are co-headlining ozzfest.....thats pretty underground. |

this is true....iron maiden are certainly a HUGE name in metal, and they can certainly sell out an arena for a concert, but you don't hear a lot about them from people, and they don't seem to have a lot of big promotion. |
anyone who thinks iron maiden is "underground" has down syndrome |
I guess I must have a severe case of down syndrome then, because I believe metal has never been mainstream. I also believe metal bands must build their fan bases through loyalty. You see, radio will not touch metal. They will not touch Maiden. Maiden's legacy was built through word of mouth, man.
One must look for metal. Metal doesn't find you. It does not hunt you down and push itself on you like commercial music which is stuck in your face everywhere you turn. Metal is just there to be enjoyed. Forever underground. IRON FUCKIN MAIDEN
Uh... underground. Maiden.
Does not compute. |
iron maiden is underground if the year was still 1977 |
iron maiden is underground? metal has never been mainstream? am i missing something here? |
Bruce: How's the crowd looking?
Nicko: hmmm... only seems to be about 40,000.
Bruce: Fuck then. I hate being an underground band.
Nicko: It's a struggle, but we'll get to the big time some day.
Bruce: I hope you're right. |
You seem to be missing my point. AC/DC, SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST, VAN HALEN, RUSH, AEROSMITH, SCORPIONS, MOTLEY CRUE, LED ZEPPELIN and many more. All on the radio, all the time. Iron Maiden? Never (unless on "special hours just for METAL") They are most certainly blackballed in the states. Always have been.
Why else would they not be played in full rotation on the radio along with the above bands? |
They will be now that they are on Ozzfest I bet. I am sure their label (sony?) probably didnt budget as much radio promotion for them because they know Iron Maiden will sell anyway, so they concentrated radio budget on Ill Nino and whatever other faggy bands they have that are new. |
