what does beating kids teach them? not to do bad things simply out of fear of a consequence? sounds like they haven't learned anything at all.

good parenting is about instilling a conscious in a kid, which CAN be done non-violently. the problem is that there are so many shitty paretns out there who are too stupid to raise a kid right so they either beat them (scaring some for life) or don't punish tehm enough, making them pussies. the problem is not the lack of beatings, the problem is dumb parents.
