I'm not sure how modern this is, but it definitely is full of hate. Kevorkians Angels got their start in Massachusetts around 1996. Formed by frontman Mark, the original incarnation featured guitarist Brad on drums, later bass, and finally as guitarist. Line up changes were prevalent, but Kevorkians Angels desire to write fast paced extreme metal songs never changed.

The Sound of Modern Hate is their debut full length and it begs the questions, what the hell is going on up in Bosox country? First Watchmaker and now this. These bands only know extreme. The fifteen tracks here blast by with seething hate and anger. It would appear that Kevorkians Angels are more rooted in grindcore, but there are plenty of punk influences as well- hell even on "Lacerate" you can hear some old school thrash. "Eat Shit" starts off with an old D.R.I. type of riff with Mark's scathing screaming, a bizarre but workable contrast. I'm usually not a big fan of these type of bands but Kevorkians Angels, like Watchmaker, truly know what the meaning of no holds barred is and they go forth with abandon. Old school discs like this just don't come around that often anymore and we must relish them.

Album Score: 8 out of 10
