well kids there weren't many people there cause they were all down at the met cafe. This was bad for action attack cause they couldn't pull through with all the people expecting 14 year olds. They had to import some from boston.

irepress: they were a space rock band. It was pretty good. the singer needs to get closer to the mic. Guess I'll listen to the new mogwai instead.

our fate ends: another good prefomance from them. I like how the singer keep sticking his arm out and looking like an aeroplane.

for.her.i.can.be.a.hero: awesome. I wish there was more people there to dance for the and roll round on the floor. These guys absolutely rock live.

the_network: minus their drum machine, but still crazy. They even played a new track. Unfortunately the mic was f'd up so you couldn't hear most of the vocals. At the end, they blew up the flood lights they brought.

saved by grace: I don't know if I've ever hear anything by these guys. The sreaming parts were good. I didn't really like the clean singing. I thought it was funny cause the singer kept turning away from my and rustedangel's cameras. Suicide not showed up late (during the sbg set) and sbg started screming "suicide note.. sui..cide.. note.. sucks dick"

suicide note: I made a comment on the way down that they sounded/acted a lot like converge live. Well, they REALLY acted like it at this show. I like the cd alot, but live, it's funny to watch.

the show went really well with the exception of the amount of kids that showed up.

hearts like handgrenades - didn't really watch their set but the drummer kept telling me he would find a really hot chick to give me head. they sounded a lot like poison the well, pretty good.

Irepress - fucking amazing. I heard them on an mp3 which was really bad quality and it still amazed me. but live.. forget it, I will deffinatly have these guys more often.

our fate ends - good friends of mine, I love their music. I wish more kids danced for them. Their new meteral is amazing and im looking forward to them finishing their recording.

for.her.i.can.be.a.hero - second time i've booked them, but the first time I go the chance to actually watch them. I really liked them, they have a lot of energy, the vocals sounded good, as well as everything else.

the_network - ok, these guys amaze me everytime. no one can put on a show like these guys. while the guitarist eats the mic, and drummers set falls apart and gets his own cymbals thrown at him, these guys create some amazing music. I talked to them after the show, I'm going to be booking their tour for late august, and I'll be helping them out with a lot of other shit as well.

Saved by Grace - I actually didnt get to catch their set because i was out talking to the_network and waiting for suicide note to show up. (and they did at 10 pm) but everyone tells me it was a really good set and I shouldn't have missed it. they were really nice kids.

Suicide Note - Again, I didn't really catch their either which i was disapointed that I did. but they were all really nice guys and I love their CD. after the show we suicide note met us at Bickfords and we hung out for a bit. I was telling them stories about times my friends have eaten there and how they had the shits for a week, haha and all the guys were questining wether to eat the food or not haha.

all in all it was a fun time.
I wish more kids showed up though.

well, for a wednsday show the light turnout was expected, for me at least... I've never been down to a show in Fall River so....

Irepress: I actually liked these guys quite a bit. A real old style cave in sound to some of their space guitar riffs. Not sure if Id like them with a singer or not though. It really depends on the style he would do. To be safe, id say just stick to it without one ;)

Our Fate Ends: These guys weren't my cup of tea at all. Their 'homey-G' looking guitar player deliberately played the guitar line to the 8 mile Eminem song. Honestly it fucking annoyed me and I wanted to smash the kids guitar over his head and then play the dueling banjo's through his amp. If I hear another band do that in between songs Im going to leave the room. He also tried doing some 'king kong' thing with his hand during a breakdown and tried getting the rest of the band to do it. They just looked at him like he had down syndrome. One last thing, whenever these guys had a breakdown, no one would dance, but then some young fuck would jump in and dance for like .5 seconds to a part that has nothing to do with dancing. I think these fall river folk need to learn how to dance, and most importantly WHEN to dance.

For Her I Can Be A Hero: Pretty good band, they were tight, and had some good riffs. I liked em. Singer looked a little femme Whats with the bellbottom look? Is this a fuckin 70's Disco Party or a hardcore/metal show? There was a disco ball on the ceiling, perhaps if I turned it on it would suddenly turn into saturday night fever.

The NETWORK: One of the main reasons I came down for this show was to see them. My High school bud Nate former Roomate, and Bandmate is their bass player. I must say I am really impressed by them. He showed me a video tape of them playing at Obriens pub and that was cool, but it was obviously much better to see them live even though their sample guy left to play rap. Musicwise and Performancewise. The guitars weren't very loud, the vocals were only audible when there was no music going. They definetly have the potential and more to be a touring band, as long as they don't get banned from all the venues =)

Saved By Grace: Seemed like a decent band for what they do, not my type of shit though.

Suicide Note: Not too sure what I thought of this band, 4 piece from NY... Everyone pretty much left before these guys started playing. Guitar player seemed tight, drummer had no double bass which is a rarity for the type of music this show hosted.

Good show Scott, look foreward to attending more of your shows.

ps. you should try to book EXTOL who are coming over from europe (soon?) and the closest they are playing is in Atlanta, GA.

Check out the boner I drew with my Camera Light!

Pure motherfucking skill.....

By the way Arron,
those last few pictures of Suicide Note are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
good job!

when i saw the network i couldn't hear the lead singer either. he's either got to figure out how to configure the PA better or work on getting his vocals higher and more powerful.

then again maybe it was just the acoustics...still an awsome band

toggletoggle post by easyed_69 at Jun 14,2003 9:41am
Yeah, I think Held Hostage dropped out because the bassist left.....cause all he does is smoke and drink at his house (I would know, I go there every day basically). He was supposed to play that show, but he had to work, and I'm guessing they couldn't find another bassist in time for the show.

toggletoggle post by john cusack at Jun 15,2003 1:04am
i think you're wrong...very wrong. they have a new bassist who would have played the show. luke was never playing this show and our singer is having new problems again, and let's see mike fractured his foot. those latter reasons were why we did not play so thanks for acting like you know everything about my band as if we all cared anyways.
