How are Motorhead not metal? |
|
Motorhead's an incredibly loud blues band.
|
|
They aren't blues... do you know what blues is? Robert Johnson is blues. |
|
self, mr. bungle, minus the bear |
|
Nirvana and Prong. thats all I can think of. And I barely listen to nirvana anymore. |
|
Blues-based you shithead. You ask Lemmy, the singer from Motorhead, what Motorhead is, he'll tell you a loud ass blues rock band. Now, about this "blues" thing.... I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter. |

Wow, sorry if I offended you? Saying a band is "blues" and saying they are "blues-based" is completely different. How was I to know that when you say blues you mean blues-based? I love you by the way. |

Tough one...but let's do a quicky
Motorhead
Pink Floyd
Tangerine Dream (and side projects)
Joy Division
Bauhaus
Pixies
The Who
The Rolling Stones
Ramones
Buzzcocks
The Damned
tons of UK punk
tons of Scandinavian hardcore, almost as much as metal
some noise as well...
Retzam: Motorhead is metal in their attitude and because every fucking metalheads like them (well, almost), but otherwise it's a very loud rock band. Most of their influences are blues, I don't know if you ever listen to Inferno, that very last song "Whorehouse blues" they do it incredibly well... |
|
acdc
billy idol
boston
can't think of anymore unless hair metal doesn't count as metal |
|
Oh ok, I didn't realize they were rock, I always just thought they were metal. It makes sense now though, cause I think they started in the early 70s. |
|
There is a lot of Metal and Punk in MOTORHEAD, and I can understand why they could fall into either category, but overall I think Rock And Roll or Hard/Heavy Rock is the best way to describe them... Some riffs/songs are really heavy or punky, but they've pretty much stuck to a straight up Rock and Roll formula, the basic Blues Rock scales, etc. |
|
Scissorfight.
I don't what they are, but they rock. |
|
From Monument to Masses
Antibalas
Pearl Jam
National Blue
Cancer Conspiracy
...just about any "classic rock" Zeppelin, Deep Purple (wait they're the first metal band ever) Boston, The Stones, The Beatles...etc..etc.
...and Debbie Gibson. She is my Goddess...... |
|
Frank Zappa
The Beatles
Pink Floyd
King Crimson
Deep Purple
Motorhead
AC/DC
Classical
Led Zeppelin
Misfits
The Stones
Johnny Cash
Alice Cooper
Blue Oyster Cult
ELO
David Bowie
Queen
Kiss
The Pogues
Bob Dylan
Hendrix
Black Sabbath
Thats all i can think of right now. I know theres more. I hardly ever listen to metal on my own unless its Judas Priest or Mercyful Fate or something like that.
|
|

They are from the New Market, NH area. Iron Lung's the leader singer, Paul Jarvis? in the bassist. Seen them many times, last time at Sharp Shooters in Nashua, NH. They joke around and say they are from Mt. Washington. |
|
Scissorfight is great. I haven't seen them since '01 at the hempfest. |
