hey i just stumbled upon my magic cards today and i was thinking about selling them, the problem is that i have no idea what all these symbols mean and what series they are from.... here's what i got

- a series that has nothing on it, no dates nor symbols, just the illus name
- a series with 1995 on the bottom
- another with 1997
- one with a white border with a cracked colliesum thing
- two jointed wheels
- circle donut thing
- a hammer
- an anvil
- a palm tree
- an open book
- a cloud with a lighting bolt
- an arabrian sword, white border
- a flag
- a sliver moon white border
- a sliver moon black border
- a V
- and finally a cirle with 3 seprate pieces in the middle

-palm tree is Mirage i believe
-cloud with lightening bolt is Tempest
-I know The Dark, one of the first expansions had a crescent moon as its symbol, but I have no idea what the difference in the borders there means

could be a number of different ones. Alpha, Beta, 4th through 8th Edition look like that. You can tell by the borders though.

-scimitar is Arabian Nights (and I don't mean knights)
-if by cracked coliseum thing you mean a cracked column, that is Legends

There are too many factors to consider. The ones with white borders could be older editions, or Chronicles, which are rereleases of the first 5 editions, where they redid them with a white border. ummmmm

Nothing on it - If it's white boardered, Unlimited. If black, it's Alpha or Beta. Alpha has rounder edges than other cards.

'95- 4th edition.

'97- 5th edition.

White boarderd cracked pillar - Chronicles (A set containing reprints of older sets. The pillar is Legends, but the white boarder means it's a reprint).

Circle Donut Thing - If it looks kind of like a snake, Torment. if not, Planeshift.

Hammer - Urza's Legacy.

Two joined wheels - Urza's Saga.

Anvil - Antiquities.

Palm Tree - Mirage.

Open book - Weatherlight.

Cloud with bolt - Tempest.

Arabian sword, white boarder - Chronicles (reprint from Arabian Nights).

Flag - Alliances.

Sliver moon, white boarder - Chronicles (reprint from the Dark).

Sliver moon - The Dark.

V - Visions.

Circle with 3 seperate pieces in the middle - Homelands.

I totally forgot that this set existed. Does it look kind of like a stone well? If so, that card is from Portal. That set was for learning how to play Magic.
