Looks like he went into his closet and pulled out the dolls he played with as a little boy and took a picture of them!
He takes pictures of his toys and uses them for flyers. Everyone knows that. |
this looks like a nice happy show |
HOW ARE THE TURNOUTS ON THURSDAY SHOWS?
9pm?
doesn't the show start at 8? |
no, all block shows start at 9, and since theres only 4 bands, definantly 9. You should probably be there by 8ish for load in. joe likes that. |
Joe... We needs tah see way more paper fliering... I'll spread what I can if you send em out as soon as the shows are booked or whatever. I'm sure 3 or 4 other people here doing so too would add up nicely. |
What order are the bands playing? |
we're first, abhorred is last. |
oh yeah? no shit...i did not know that |
i missed nefarious when we played with them in R.I., so now i hopefully will see them. |
this show outta be fun...

I'm putting up fliers this afternoon in the Garage/H- Square area.
i guess our van is in for repairs right now... the drive shaft almost completely fell off apparently. luckily it didn't happen last weekend during the span of 3 shows. if it is not fixed the rest of my band will only be able to bring guitars/head/cymbals. Would anyone be willing to let us use a kit w/ cabs if our van isn't fixed by tomorrow?.... this is just in case our van is still dead tomorrow it's not definete. |
go into the Garage two areas in there to place fliers, do it up guys this should be big for the last couple of Block dates
am I aloud to go to this? |
i need to go to this...where is there cheap and/or free parking around there? i'll walk a bit if i have to |
Pardon me if it's been posted already but is Cryptic opening? If I went it'd mostly be for them. Just want to make sure. |

If you can't park around the corner on Calumet St., you can park behind Stop And Shop for like 90 min at a time. |
i usually pahk on tremont. |
sweet deal...where exactly is the stop and shop??
i should know this shit, i only went to mass. art for 2 years and walked all over the place. what a bastard i is |
Well... Calumet goes up behind the Block, the Stoppy's lot is right off that, on the left 1/2 way up the block. |
awesome, thank you very much. i guess i'll see you fuckers there tomorrow. |
Hmmm.. I just might make it. |

This show was a fun time, small crowd but it was a thursday night. They sold out of Block shirts.
Porphyria was pretty good, I was a little annoyed by the singer's complete lack of energy and failed attempts at headbanging. At one point he stopped the song to announce a breakdown, which was kind of weird. I dig the music though, as far as brutal death metal goes, most of it sucks, but this band does it right. There was one song I really liked, I will listen to the CD Tom gave me to figure out it's name.
Cryptic Warning played a great set, their guitarist has always been out of control, and the past few times I have seen this band you can tell the rest of the band has reached that point as well, they flow alot better now as a band. I hope these guys tour when their new cd comes out, everyone talks about Shadows Fall and Unearth bringing attention here, but I think that is not the case, but if a band like Cryptic Warning tours, then it will probably happen.
Nefarious took the long trek from Providence and played my favorite set of the night. I liked them better this time then the other time I saw them. Plus one of them had been shot in the face once, which rules. I hope all you fags come to the Halloween show and see Nefarious, or go to another Nefarious show in the future. This band should play Helvete, great black metal with thrash and doom influences.
Abhorred headlined, and did some covers including Kevorkian's Angels. I fucking missed the KA cover, I hate life. These pieces of shit are playing tomorow at the Block. |
I had a pretty good time, Although I was yawning on the friggen way down to the show hahaha. We went on around 9:30-40. We played okay, but totally fucked the new song which is weird because we nailed it at the last 3 shows. Tim announced a part as a 'breakdown' once again because dane forgot what part we were suppose to go into and we were just standing there for a good 10 seconds, haha jesus christ. It's always funny to me when he says cheesy shit like that. Tim turned up all the lows on the mixer on the vocals instead of the kick drum so all shawn could hear was a hum from the pa. I could hear pretty much everything fine.
Cryptic Warning: rocked pretty hard, their guitarist (dave is it?) is a pretty damn fine player! He looks really young too. I kept getting pulled outside so I didn't get to catch as much of them as I wanted but I did see the last couple of songs completely. The last song wasn't really my bag, but the solo ruled.
Nefarious: saw these guys at the vital show, I'm slowly losing interest in black metal so it's hard for me to get into a lot of black metal stuff. They have some pretty cool parts though. I don't know why they used full stacks in a 10 x 10 room. hahah.
Abhorred: seemed like a lot of people left by this point, I was getting real tired myself. They came on and played like they have the last few time's i've seen them, tight. Some of the guitar parts sounded a bit out of tune during melodic parts? They played day of sufferring which ruled. I requested a carcass song and got a little taste but not a full song They played war ensemble again which was cool as well. I hear a lot of slayer influence in their original music.
Thanks again for having us joe. Thanks to terence, mark fucking richards and erica, john and everyone else who watched us. \m/ |
I got their late due to band practice, so I missed Porphyria. Next time, guys.
Cryptic Warning was bad ass. I'm not too into thrash, but they were awesome.
This was my first time seeing Nefarious, and they blew me away. So many awesome heave riffs.
Abhorred was fucking incredible, and a lack of bass isn't noticeable at all. Halloween at the Block is going to rule over everything. |
This show ruled!
I was really looking forward to Porphyria, having heard their live and studio demos, and they did not disappoint. I especially dig the cool tapping solo in one of the songs.
From what I saw, Nefarious kicked all kinds of ass. Unforunately, due to 9 oclock class this morning and still having work to do last night, I had to split after a couple of songs. Sorry about that, especially to Abhorred who I didnt get to see at all. Dave and Phil stuck around to represent CW for the rest of the night though.
Thanks to Joe and all the other bands and everyone who came out. All I can say is that it sucks the Block is closing. |
cryptic warning completely dominated everyone, and for this, i thank you. |
