Also, if god does know what the future holds, why did he even bother creating mankind? he could see what a failed experiment we would become. he already knew of WW2, 9/11, ect. well before he even created us. if he "loves" us so much, why would he have created us to put us through that kind of suffering and chaos?

I believe Mark Twain's got this covered. I forget the name, but the one where the guy animated clay and then killed the people.

God (in concept) gave us free will, knowing that it'll turn out badly.

In reality (as I see it), God, god, gods, crop circles, magical runes, etc... are all just our human brains trying to make sense out of things. And hell, what's the most senseless thing? Death? yep, and so it goes that all the religion base on explaining this... and maybe giving meaning to death (afterlife). What's the second mystery? where we came from?
these are all things to put people's minds at easy so they can focus on the daily stuff.
I see no problem in people beliving in christ or buddha or the anhk around their neck or whatever if it helps them get through life to do the things they have to do.
just don't step on anyone else's toes.

oh and christ was just like michael jackson... he was black and then became white. though now jesus is used in the name of people hating blacks... which is a whole other ball of wax. love thy brother.
