| alt lys er svunnet hen is easily my favorite Dimmu song. This album has stolen the spot from Spiritual Black for my favorite Dimmu cd. Very raw, but appropriate.

| i think this is a decent release from dimmu borgir.....the production kinda sucks a little(i know its black metal, its supposed to be raw) but i think the guitars and drums could have been a little heavier......but i think the melodies and keyboards are really nice......does anyone else think that the vocals sound like they could belong to a villain in a disney movie? i don't remember if shagrath or silenoz(sp?) sings on this, but the voice sounds like it could belong to a little sniveling, mischeivous, snakelike creature........just a thought. haha

Awesome album! Favorites: Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen, Sorgens Kammer, and Antikrist. I have an edition where Antikrist's and Dødsferd's position on the tracklist on the back is reversed, kind of odd.

| Everyone in Dimmu enjoys the sensation of testacles in their mouth. Have you seen those guys recently? What the fuck!?!?!?! I don't understand how this is categorized as black metal. It seems as though it would be quite obvious that these guys dabble in the forbidden arts of faggotry but somehow people still talk about these fucks like theyre gods or something. Did you guys not see the frilly pirate shirts and the catalogue order swords they all had? What a bunch of pussies!

since when is dimmu borgir classified as "commercial goth rock"??? come on! you make it sound like they're the cure or something. i admit they are a tad more appealing to the mainstream than, say, burzum, or darkthrone, especially now, but i think they're still a pretty cool band. at least they're not gay like cradle of filth, what with all of their bi-sexual, sadomasochistic vampire bullshit......and as for that crack about them wearing their mothers' makeup, that's called corpsepaint you fucking moron. even the most evil, church-burning, fag bashing black metal bands wear it. when was the last time you saw some old lady walking down the street with makeup similar to Abbath's from immortal? | i agree. i dont particularly like dimmu but i wouldnt say they arent talented. i dont think theyre black metal though. i wouldnt even call my band black metal anymore. dimmu are too flashy for that. i respect their musicianship and their drive to improve on it but thats not black metal. black metal is grim, atmospheric and depressing music that you can eat a shit load of mushrooms to. the people who play it dont give a shit how impressed you are with their ability to play their instuments. in fact you dont even have to know how to play anything and still be able to write some sick fuckin evil shit. like i said i think theyre talented and they definitely know what theyre doing but theyre too worried about their image and how many records their gonna sell to fat goth chicks.
