Guenhyvar is an incredibly original band if you put them in comparison to other bands in the Southern MA / RI region. This demo is a bit shaky in terms of quality, but if you can handle even a little bit of raw metal, the Gall 2006 demo won't be a problem.

Guenhyvar's biggest comparison is almost always to Opeth. I agree and disagree in some ways. Guenhyvar's vocalist (Ross) does sound incredibly similar to Mikael Akerfeldt, but musically, Guenhyvar is somewhat different.

Guenhyvar is a hidden gem among RI/MA metal bands. They don't get nearly as much recognition as they deserve, and they really need to start playing more shows to get their name out there.

the stuff i've heard from these guys is pretty awesome. it's pretty much full-on opeth worship (done very well by the way), but i love opeth, so i enjoy it. i'd like to see these guys play live and i'd also like to see retzam come back and post here more often.
