| liek... this cd came out in like 1990 and there werent any blast beats you stupid fucking shithead =) NOW if you would bother to actually listen to this cd before bashing it... then you would know. this is the band that a vast majority of those bands pay homage to/rip off. so shut the fuck up and learn about something before you shit on it you worthless knock-kneed bangwhore.

oh you were born before 1990? could have fooled me... anyway... no one plays this type of metal anymore. this is old school death metal. maybe iif you actually heard this album you would know what you are talking about... but who needs to hear an album to review it anyway?

| Litsen to spaldino you idiot, if you litsened to what he said then maybe you would realize you werent gay. This album is not the best album ever but it certainly is an important album in the brutal death genre. Blast beats however were around in the mid 80's. Not the best CC disc but give them some fucking respect.

| For people who like Autopsy, but thrashier. This is an awesome album. SO many bands try to imitate this.

when this album was first released it was something pretty new and fresh; in 1990 death metal was just starting to take off. today, it isn't so impressive, what with all the clones cannibal corpse helped to spawn, but it is certainly an important album and a landmark in extreme metal.
musically, this album is a lot more thrashy than their later albums; guitars are pretty thin, with some slayer-inspired riffs and solos. the drum beats are fast but not really "blast beats". bass guitar is audible every now and then. chris barnes wasn't that great a singer back then, his growls were kind of weak on this record, but i guess it's better than his singing in six feet under today!
i don't think this album is very good, but is worth checking out if you are a fan of straight up death metal.
