As many of you probably know, Nihilist is the band that would later become Entombed. This compilation is interesting because you can hear the progression of their sound, which on the first demo is a lot more thrashy sounding, with higher screams from the singer, and as the CD plays onto the following demos, you can hear the music slowly morphing into the style they would become famous for, and the singer using deeper growls. What is also interesting about this album is that the band members were only about 15-16 years old when the demos were recorded, and for their ages, the material is quite good despite the sub-par, garage quality production, which for me, makes the music all the more aggressive! This is a great compilation, and a must-have for any big Entombed fan, or any death metal fan in general.
