| heard half of it so far and i must say, i prefer bloodthirst and tomb of the mutilated
|

| Yeah, I have heard a sample, and i must say that it doesnt match Vile, which is the standard they have to beat in my opinion.I was a little dissapointed, especially as i had heard it said that this was their most "brutal" album, but also melodically inclined.A half assed effort from CC.

| is it their best album? i'd have to go with no. is it better than Gore Obsessed. yes. overall, a strong album with some really good songs like Decency Defied and Festering in the Crypt. i like the album. awesome production, and i think Corpsegrinder's vocals are amazing. i would say buy it
|

| i agree with Kalopsia. it's not their best album, but it is better than Gore Obsessed. And personally i like it's better than Gallery of Suicide. But it certainly doesn't compare to Vile and The Tomb of the Mutilated

| Personaly i think that they sound like they have been remaking the same album sense after the Bleeding. It all sounds the same i cant tell the riffs apart. But thats just me!!!

When this record first came out, I was skeptical - wow, another Cannibal Corpse album....whoopee.
About a month ago, I decided to give it a shot. Easily one of the best records Cannibal Corpse ever made. I don't know if I could go as far as to say it's even better than - dare I say it - the almighty Tomb of the Mutilated....yeah, it's that good.
Personal favorite tracks: Decency Defied - a crushing track with a nice groove; Festering in the Crypt - a sluggish, brooding song with a sick main riff; and Nothing Left to Mutilate - a catchy little number without sacrificing
the brutality.
This album comes with a bonus DVD that features the band in the studio talking about the recording of The Wretched Spawn. It's kinda lame, they mostly talk about what guitars etc. they decided to use and show you around their bedrooms at the studio: "Well, here's my bed, that's my dresser (don't look in the top drawer!), and here are some books/CDs on the shelf and that's about it." Wow. Kewl. In the trash.
Basically, if you thought Bloodthirst was Cannibal's best album, pick this up - it pisses all over just about everything they've done up to this point.
